What is Market Street Creatives?
Market Street Creatives is the brainchild of a husband-and-wife entrepreneurial team with over 40 years of combined small business experience. As part of their primary business, they work with small business owners nationwide and see the challenges and struggles the average business owner faces. They are often very good at their core objective but need help with marketing, sales, accounting, etc. They wanted to create a small business community where business owners can help one another, share ideas, and develop relationships that support the community.
They also understand the high costs of setting up a store in local communities. Costs such as rent, utilities, taxes, etc., leave small businesses strapped and under constant pressure. Market Street Creatives aims to alleviate all that and allow vendors to focus on what they do best… creating exceptional products. The MSC team will handle the sales and marketing and will work hard to drive online and in-person traffic continually.
Before starting Market Street Creatives, the idea was researched extensively by visiting other marketplaces, craft fairs, and community fairs. The best concepts from each were combined with different ideas to make MSC a unique experience for shop owners and customers.
WALLS! Many marketplaces define a vendor space by simply outlining floorspace with tape or chalk. This leaves it up to the vendors to figure out how to set up their products within their space and create a shop that sets them apart from neighboring vendors. Market Street Creatives gives our non-kiosk vendors defined spaces with walls, creating mini-stores that the shop owner can decorate any way they like, including painting, flooring, lighting, and even a ceiling or roof on their space. This has all the look and feel of renting a store in the local community without all the hassle.
MONEY! One of the most significant differences between Market Street Creatives and other vendor markets is that there is NO COMMISSION and no other fees for in-store sales. Everyone, in the end, has a small business to earn money. The goal of MSC is to help small businesses grow, and one of the best ways to do that is to allow each shop owner to keep all their money from sales. This also takes the pressure off the shop owner when pricing their products. They do not have to worry about giving up 10%, 20%, or more on each sale. This is good for the shop owner and the consumer.
TIME! The most important thing that we all have is time. No matter who you are, you only get 24 hours per day. Market Street Creatives is an unmanned marketplace, so once the shop owner sets up their store, they do not need to be there during business hours. MSC has sales staff to help customers and answer questions. All items in the shop’s space are tagged with unique barcodes so that when the customer checks out at the cashier, each vendor is given proper credit for the sale. The process is seamless for both the customer and the shop owner. This allows shop owners to work a different fair simultaneously or simply enjoy time with family and friends.
